Somerville Attorney Arrested For Allegedly Bribing Local Police Chief
An attorney from Somerville has been arrested for allegedly bribing a local police chief to get approval for a marijuana dispensary, the US Attorney's Office for Massachusetts said. Sean O'Donovan, age 54, allegedly tried bribing Medford's police chief with $25,000 to secure the approval of a recreational marijuana dispensary for one of his clients, the office reports. A retail marijuana dispensary is being proposed for Webster. Developers are seeking to put an adult-use marijuana establishment at 4 Town Forest Road, Unit A, in Webster. Pot Shop Hit With $120K Fine For Selling Dirty 'Star Dawg'
Marijuana dispensary Revolutionary Clinics of Fitchburg has been hit with a $120,000 fine for violating state law around the quality of weed vaporizer cartridges. Revolutionary Clinics sold vaporizer cartridges - infused with a Star Dawg strain of cannabis - that failed laboratory testing, on Dec. 24, 2018, and Feb. 26, 2019, according to a June letter of enforcement from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. A new marijuana dispensary opened this week in Shrewsbury. Verilife is a recreational facility that opened July 28 at 939 Boston Turnpike. Accused Of Using Union-Busting Tactics Against Employees
Marijuana dispensary NETA has been accused of quashing employee efforts to unionize at its Brookline and Franklin facilities. Over the last two months, the UFCW Local 1445 (United Food and Commercial Workers) labor union has filed a host of federal complaints alleging that employees have been fired or threatened over collective bargaining efforts at two of the facilities owned by NETA - New England Treatment Access, according to the Boston Business Journal.
