(Update) Standoff: Police Release Details On Incident Near Ashburnham School Police said a standoff near Cushing Academy in Ashburnham Thursday morning, March 30, ended peacefully after a suspect who led officers on a chase locked himself in his truck near the Worcester County school and refused to come, Massachusetts State Police said.  The driver's name was not released.  The chase began in Winchendon after the driver assaulted an officer and sped away, authorities said. Four-star point guard Brensley Joseph, who stars at the Putnam Science Academy in Windham County, signed a letter of intent with the University of Miami to join a star-studded Hurricanes recruiting class.
