Multiple People Taken To Hospital Over Southampton Carbon Monoxide Leak Several people were taken for observation after they were exposed to carbon monoxide at Red Rocks Plaza in Hampshire County on Wednesday, Oct. 25.  Responders were originally told that the people showing symptoms had been exposed to epoxy, but firefighters traced the source of the issue to a propane heater causing carbon monoxide to build up, the Southampton Fire Department said.  Southampton authorities called several other area paramedics and firefighting crews to assist with the multiple casualty incident.  No injuries were reported at the scene, but several people w…

Southhampton Resident & Former CT Teacher and Coach Keith MacBain Has Died Keith MacBain died at his home in Southampton on Sunday, Sept. 13 due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease.  Keith was born in Englewood, NJ, and lived on a small farm in Closter, NJ, where his father ran a kennel. He later attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and graduated in 1956. He received a B.A. in English from Cornell University in 1960 and an M.A. from Columbia Teachers College in 1964.  He married Cynthia Loring in August of 1960, and they moved to Homewood, Illinois, to teach for two years.
