Some Of The Bests Photos Of The Eclipse Taken Across Massachusetts While Massachusetts was not in the "totality zone" for Monday afternoon's solar eclipse, it still was a monumental event. Many Bay Staters snapped and shared impressive photos of the rare celestial event.  The zone of totality, where 100 percent of the sun was blocked by the moon, was a little more than 100 miles wide and stretched from Mexico to Maine. Arson: Central Mass House Fire Intentionally Set; 2 Injured In Blaze Police have arrested a man and charged him with intentionally starting a Central Massachusetts house fire that injured two people on Tuesday, June 6.  Evan Kelly, of Holden, was arraigned on Wednesday, Leominster District Court officials said. He is charged with arson, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, reports said. He is being held without bond until a dangerousness hearing on Monday.  Investigators say Kelly intentionally set the fire at 24 Juniper Lane in Holden just after 7:30 p.m. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control in about two hours. …

29-Year-Old Man From Central Mass Killed In Weekend Pedestrian Crash: DA A 29-year-old man from Athol has died after he was hit by a car in Central Massachusetts this past weekend, according to officials.  The man was struck by a vehicle traveling on Route 202 near 150 Daniel Shays Highway just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office reports. The driver, a 20-year-old Athol resident, and passenger got out of the car to help the victim. He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries, the DA's Office said.
