3 Men Hospitalized In Western Mass Crash ID'd, Police Update Their Conditions
Police have identified the three men who were injured after the truck they were in crashed into a tree in Berkshire County on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 9.
Anthony Nichols, age 41, Gregory Prince, 54, and Robert O'Bert, 50, all of Pittsfield, had to be cut from the truck after it crashed at 241 South St. in Pittsfield near the intersection of Broad Street just after 3:30 p.m., Pittsfield police said.
Nichols, the driver, was in serious condition, Prince was in fair condition, and O'Bert was in good condition Wednesday evening, police said. All three remained at Baystate Medical Cen…
Sunderland Man, 33, Killed Walking Along Route 116 In Hadley
A 33-year-old Sunderland man was killed on Saturday morning, Jan. 6, while walking a road in Hampshire County, authorities said.
The man, whose name was not released, was walking on the side of Route 116 in Hadley when he was struck by a 29-year-old Deerfield woman, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. No charges have been filed, and the woman's name was not released.
She remained at the scene and called 911.
Bystanders gave the man medical aid until paramedics arrived. They rushed him to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, where he later died.&nbs…

Friends and family of an 18-year-old high school senior from Malden who died in a Middleton crash last week said he was someone you could always rely on.
Robert “Bobby” Giardino, 18, died Wednesday night, Dec. 6, after the pickup truck he was driving with three teens veered off the road into the woods, hit several trees, and rolled onto its roof, MassLive reported.
Besides Giardino, another 18-year-old, and two 17-year-olds were rushed to local hospitals. Officials have not released their names or conditions.

A police car en route to a suspected crime scene crashed at an intersection in Berkshire County Sunday afternoon, Oct. 15, injuring four people, including a grandmother, her grandchildren, and a Pittsfield police officer, authorities said.
Two Pittsfield police officers were driving to a reported disturbance off Cheshire Road just before 4:30 p.m. with lights and sirens on, Pittsfield authorities said. Worcester Man, 31, Killed In Fiery Oxford Crash On Route 395
A 31-year-old man was killed Friday night, Sept. 29, after his car veered off the road and crashed into a tree, authorities said.
Shawn Marengo, 31, of Worcester, was driving his Jeeps south on Route 395 in Oxford near Exit 4 around 10 p.m. when he left the roadway, Massachusetts State Police say.
The Jeep slammed into a tree and caught fire. Marengo was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
It's unclear what caused his car to leave the road. State police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the fatal incident.

A 26-year-old Connecticut woman and a toddler were killed on I-84 when another driver allegedly lost control and slammed into their vehicle.
