A couple from Secaucus is facing a litany of charges after scamming residents in multiple states out of more nearly $2.2 million, police said.
Akeem Lee and Majda Hodzic-Lee called victims in Florida, Minnesota, Arizona, Kansas, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Nebraska, saying they'd won the "Publishers Clearing House Lottery," Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

A Rhode Island man who pleaded guilty to his role in a conspiracy to move methamphetamines throughout the United States using children's toys and other seemingly mundane items was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday, Sept. 19, authorities said.
Nathan Boddie, 38, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, admitted that he and two others began smuggling methamphetamines, fentanyl, and cocaine from Arizona into Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and elsewhere in April 2022, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said.

A Navy SEAL and father of two from Massachusetts was killed in a parachute training accident in Arizona this month, officials said.
Chief Special Warfare Operator Michael Ernst died from free fall training accident in Marana, AZ, on Sunday, Feb. 19, a Naval Special Warfare Command (NSW) spokeswoman told Daily Voice.
Ernst, assigned to a Naval Special Warfare East Coast-based unit, was pronounced dead at Banner University Medical Center, the spokeswoman continued. Ernst leaves behind his wife and two children, aged 3 and 5, according to the the Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF).

Three individuals appeared in federal court in Boston for their roles in a conspiracy that allegedly moved numerous controlled substances across the county in boxes of children's items, federal officials said.
