A man's body found in a vehicle brought a heavy police presence to a Frederick County roadway on Wednesday, Jan. 10, the sheriff's office said. Authorities responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in a field on the 8200 block of Crum Road around 1:30 p.m. in Walkersville, officials said. A smiling suspect with a history of stalking has been accused of killing his estranged wife amid a contentious divorce in Frederick County, the sheriff's office announced. Walkersville resident Frederick Owusu Sakyi, 33, was tracked from the scene of a murder at Giant in Urbana and arrested without incident in connection to the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Tenisha Butler, according to authorities. Maryland Girl, 15, Killed By Tractor Trailer
A 15-year-old Maryland girl was struck and killed by a tractor trailer this week, authorities said. Nikole Cynthia Morfessis, 15, of Walkersville, is believed to have walked into the roadway on Route 194 north while the truck was passing around noon on April 22. Nikole was airlifted to Frederick Health Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor trailer remained at the scene. Speeding and impaired driving were not factors in this crash. Route 194 was shut down at the scene following the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
