A Maryland animal shelter is set to reopen its doors months after being forced to shut down due to a rapidly spreading infection that wreaked havoc at the facility. Officials announced that the Prince George's Animals Services and Adoption Center will reopen as of Friday, June 14, after temporarily shuttering its doors earlier this year due to an outbreak of Streptococcus Zooepidemicus, more commonly known as "strep zoo." Silver Alert Issued After Man Disappeared In DC Last Week
Police are asking for the public's help locating a critically missing 66-year-old man who disappeared in DC, authorities say. Gilbert Turner, was last seen in the 2100 block of R Street, Southeast, on Thursday, Aug. 11, according to DC police. Turner is described as a black male with a medium complexion, police said. He is 5-foot-5 and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes with balding salt and pepper hair. Turner was last seen wearing a blue jersey blue pants, and white shoes. He may be in need of medication.
