A police vehicle with the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) was struck by gunfire during a pre-dawn shooting in a work zone on Tuesday, Jan. 30, according to authorities who are looking for leads. An MDTA officer was assisting with a work zone closure in the right lane of the ramp from northbound I-95 to I-395 (Exit 53) in Baltimore City when investigators believe a shot was fired from a passing vehicle around 2:15 a.m. The shot struck the MDTA Police vehicle, an unmarked Dodge Charger, which had its emergency lights activated, officials said.
