Tributes were mounting for a 34-year-old man killed in a crash Friday, Nov. 25. John Ryan Coblentz was heading south on a 2002 Harley-Davidson on Winchester Boulevard when he tried to navigate a curve and veered off the roadway around 8 p.m., according to Todd Wivell, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office. The motorcycle went off the road, down into a ditch, struck a steep embankment of a drainage ditch, and came to rest in a gravel area off the right side of the roadway. A garbage truck driver was killed after being struck by another man while on the job in Northern Maryland, state police say. Jose Gomes, 55, of Hagerstown, died at Frederick Health Hospital after he was struck by Oxon Hill resident Osman Perez Mollo's Subaru while he was picking up garbage cans on Green Valley Road in Clarksburg early on Wednesday morning. Police ID Pedestrian Killed By Driver In Maryland Crash
The pedestrian killed in an Oxon Hill collision has been identified as a Waldorf man, authorities say. Noshua Vann, 38, was struck in the 6100 block of St. Barnabas Road around 9:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20 according to Prince George's County Police. Vann was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Detectives believe that Vann was in the roadway at the time of the collision. Driver, 30, Dies In Stoney Creek Bridge Crash
A 30-year-old driver died in a crash on the Stoney Creek Bridge early Tuesday, Feb. 8, police said. A 2007 Dodge Dakota was heading north on the bridge when the driver lost control and began to rotate into oncoming traffic around 5:25 a.m., Anne Arundel County police said. A 2009 Chevy Tahoe was traveling southbound on the bridge and was unable to avoid striking the Dodge. The driver of the Dodge, Kyle Ryan Cole, or Pasadena, was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire officials. The driver of the Chevy was transported to MedStar Harbor with minor injuries.
