Disaster was averted in Maryland when a pilot was able to make an emergency landing in a field on Thursday afternoon, state police say. No serious injuries were reported after Florida resident Anthony Copozzi was able to safely put down his plane in St. Mary's County near an area farm in Clements. A helicopter crashed in a Maryland resident's yard over the weekend. The aircraft went down at approximately 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 9, in a yard on the 9100 block of Maytisde Street. According to NBC Washington, the helicopter was being used to survey power lines. A 911 caller said that the helicopter landed in her backyard.
