Baltimore SWAT Police Anthony Ward Crash Anthony Ward, a member of the Baltimore Police Department's SWAT team, was killed in a car accident. The department announced Ward's death late Saturday, April 20.  While police did not provide further details, Maryland State Police said Ward, 36, of Rosedale, rear-ended a Ford tow truck on the inner loop of I-695 around 4:30 p.m. just before the Jones Falls Expressway. He had been operating a 2024 GMC Savana, and was pronounced dead at the scene. New I-695 Inner Loop Closure Point To Take Effect Monday: Maryland Transportation Authority With the entire East Coast continuing to adjust to the collapse of the Key Bridge collapse in Maryland, the state's Transportation Authority announced new closures and alternatives for motorists on I-695. Beginning on Monday, April 15, there will be a new closure point in effect on the Inner Loop. According to officials, the closure will be at MD 151/North Point Boulevard (exit 42) which will be the last exit for drivers. Outer Loop closure remains intact at MD 173 (exit 1) (see above). The collision occurred just before exit 18A to MD 26 at Liberty Road in Baltimore County around 8:45 a.m., according to MDOT.
