Woman Admits To Hitting, Choking, Smothering CT Child, Arrest Warrant Says
A Connecticut woman has been charged with allegedly slapping, smothering, and choking her 16-month-old son.
The arrest took place in New London County in East Lyme, at 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 7.
Katie Ann Nichols, age 36, was charged with negligent cruelty to persons, risk of injury to a child, and reckless endangerment, following an investigation, said Chief Michael Finkelstein, of the East Lyme Police.

Husband Of CT Woman Found Dead In Street To Be Charged With Murder, Police Say
A Connecticut man will be charged with the murder of his wife after she was found lying dead on a city street, a victim of domestic violence, police said.
The incident took place in New Haven County around 10:20 a.m., Tuesday, April 26 in Waterbury on Willow Street.
The victim, identified as Moesha Panton, was found when Waterbury police responded to an assault complaint in the area of Willow Street at Roseland Avenue, said Lt. Ryan Bessette, of the Waterbury Police.

Popular Fairfield County Nightclub Closed After Police Find Guns, Liquor, Fire Violations
A popular Fairfield County nightclub has been closed after officials allegedly found several fire and alcohol violations.
The VIP Lounge, in Bridgeport, located on Pembroke Street, was raided by police and state liquor officials around 2:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 26.
"This immediate area has been plagued with police calls for service related to noise complaints, felony assaults, narcotics violations, and homicide," said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.

CT Shooting Leaves One Woman Dead, Another Critically Injured
A shooting in Connecticut has left one woman dead and another in critical condition inside an apartment.
The women were discovered around 2:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 7 in Hartford, when the Hartford Fire Department and EMS responded to an apartment at 16 Evergreen Ave., on a report of a person needing medical attention.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police Department, upon arrival, they found two women in bed, one with multiple gunshots wounds and another identified as Allison McCoy, age 21, of Hartford, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
