ID Released For CT Kayaker Who Drowned While Attempting To Reach Lost Paddle
State officials have released the name of a Connecticut man who drowned while attempting to reach a lost paddle while kayaking. The incident took place in New Haven County at Quonnipaug Lake in Guilford on Sunday, May 23. New Haven County resident Rodrigo Tocto, age 34, of Orange, was recovered from the water by the Guilford Dive Team and CPR was administered, said Will Healey, spokesman for DEEP. Kayaker Dies After Overturning In CT Lake
A missing kayaker died after his vessel capsized while he was reaching for a lost paddle, authorities said. The incident took place in New Haven County in Guilford on Quonnipaug Lake on Sunday, May 23. The missing paddler, an adult male, was recovered from the water by the Guilford Dive Team and CPR was administered, said Will Healey, spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. CT Police Save Two Kayakers Being Swept Away By Current
Two kayakers whose vessels overturned and were being swept away by the current were rescued by a Fairfield County police marine unit. The incident took place around 12:40 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18, in the Town of Fairfield. The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from a kayaker on the Long Island Sound requesting assistance after he and his friend’s kayaks overturned and were swept away by the current. Man Dies After Kayak Overturns In Region
A Western Mass man died after his kayak overturned in an area pond. John Reynolds, age 58, of the Town of Richmond in Berkshire County, died Thursday, Dec. 9 at Berkshire Medical Center after his kayak overturned in Richmond Pond. Around 7 a.m. Berkshire County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an individual in Richmond Pond calling for assistance, said Berkshire District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Andrew McKeever.
