2 Children Poured Acid On Slides, Injured 4 Other Kids At Western Mass Park: DA Two minors have been charged with pouring muriatic acid on slides in Hampden County and injuring multiple children, authorities said.  Police said the juveniles poured the toxic material on the slides at Bliss Park in Longmeadow on June 11. Four children who played on them later were burned by the caustic substance.  An investigation found that the juveniles had stolen muriatic acid from the pool's pump room at the park and poured it on three slides. 2 Adults Killed, 2 Kids Shot Inside Springfield Home (Developing) Officials in Springfield say a man and woman were killed, and two young children were gravely wounded in a shooting at a home on Berkshire Avenue on Monday, Aug. 14.  The shootings happened just after 2:30 p.m. at  174 Berkshire Ave. near Jasper Street, Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said in a press conference.  The man police believe pulled the trigger died of a self-indicted gunshot wound, reports said. ID Released For Hartford Man Killed In Police-Involved Shooting Near Western MA Casino Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a police-involved shooting in Springfield this weekend as a 48-year-old Connecticut man. Police responded to reports of a possibly armed man acting aggressively to others at the MGM Casino around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni reports. Falling Tree Kills Baby Riding In Car In Western Mass: DA's Office A infant was killed Friday afternoon, Feb. 3, when a falling tree crashed into the car they were riding in, authorities said. The incident happened just before noon along Route 57 (Feeding Hills Road) in Southwick, MA, Hamden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said.  The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Winstead, CT, was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries. Gulluni said the child was the woman's niece. A portion of Route 57 near Foster Road was shut down Friday afternoon as police cleared the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Arrest Made In 1966 Homicide Of 10-Year-Old Betty Lou Zukowski In Region Authorities in Western Massachusetts have announced an arrest in connection with a 1966 homicide of a 10-year-old girl.  Donald Mars, age 73, of Bedford, was charged in connection with the death of Betty Lou Zukowski on Wednesday, Nov. 3, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office reports.  Betty Lou left her Chicopee home around 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 1966 after getting a call from one of her friends. ID Released For Fatal Shooting Victim In Region The victim of a fatal shooting in Western Massachusetts has been identified. Hampden County resident Kelvin Cruz-Lopez, age 23, of Chicopee, was killed around 10:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 3 during a shooting on East Street, said the Hampden County District Attorney's Office.
