FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - Our streak of spectacular fall weather will come to an end Wednesday with heavy rain expected to start falling Wednesday afternoon.

The chance of rain is 80 percent Wednesday afternoon and just about a sure thing Wednesday night, the National Weather Service says. More than an inch of rain may have fallen on Fairfield County by Thursday morning.

The high temperature Wedenesday will be in the low 60s. The low Wednesday night will only drop in to the high 50s. Rain is likely to continue Thursday morning into Thursday night and a chance of rain lingers into Friday, the Weather Service says.

The stunning fall weather should return Saturday, which will bring sun and temperatures in the 60s.
