Light snow will remain in the area for the morning with an additional 2 to 4 inches possible in some parts of Fairfield County. Wind gusts of up to 36 mph will continue to create visibility problems. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday with blowing snow. Temperatures will remain in the low 20s.
The storm was not as powerful as predicted, but here are some snowfall totals for Fairfield County from the National Weather Service:
- 5 inches in Bridgeport and Norwalk;
- 5.3 inches in Fairfield;
- 6 inches in Ridgefield;
- 6.5 inches in Danbury;
- 9 inches in Darien, and
- 11.8 inches in New Canaan.
Blowing snow will be continue to be an issue on Wednesday under partly sunny skies. The high temperature will be about 29 degrees, but wind chill values will make it feel closer to zero.
Light snow could move through the area Thursday evening, with less than an inch accumulation expected.
Friday will see scattered flurries in the morning before clearing with a high temperature of about 33 degrees.
