Heavy rains and thunderstorms will bring an increased risk of flooding throughout Fairfield County beginning Tuesday.
The storms should move in early Tuesday, says the National Weather Service, which has posted a flood watch and a coastal flood watch for the region through Wednesday night. Up to 4 inches of rain, and even higher amounts, may have drenched parts of Fairfield County by Wednesday night.
Lighter rain could continue through Friday, the National Weather Service says.
