Skies will clear later Wednesday, with the relative humidity plummeting and winds picking up. The breezy northwest winds will be 17 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low near or below freezing. Blustery winds will continue overnight.
Thursday will be sunny with a high of 61 degrees with winds blowing from the northwest at 20 to 25 mph. The wind could gust up to 40 mph at times.
The entire tri-state area will be affected by the Fire Watch, with the National Weather Service warning that fire could spread rapidly if ignition occurs.
A Red Flag Warning - the next highest fire warning - has been issued south of the tri-state area in the greater Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., areas, which could expand to the tri-state area if conditions become even drier than expected.
Showers are possible later on Friday and on Saturday, which will likely end the watch.
