Get Smart 5K Will Benefit Wilton Schools

The Wilton Education Foundation is hosting its third annual "Get Smart for Wilton 5K" fundraiser on Sunday, May 29.

Participants of all ages and athletic abilities are welcome to run or walk in the event.  All proceeds will fund school programs like technology and professional development that are hardest hit by budget cuts.

Last year's race had over 250 participants. For the past two years, Jeff Ragazzini, a Wilton High graduate who now runs for Tufts University, has won the race and donated his winnings back to the schools.

Registration forms are available at the Moore Center, local gyms and online at www.wiltoneducationfoundation.org. T-shirts will be given to all pre-registered participants, and the race will begin at the Wilton High School track. Runners go off at 9 a.m., walkers at 9:15. There are cash prizes for the first three finishers in each of several categories.

Sponsors include The Moore Center, Manfredo-Curtis, Willa Ratner Design and Smile Art. In addition to her sponsorship, Dr. Monica of Smile Art will sponsor any of her patients who want to run and welcomes them to join her family and staff in participating. Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information visit www.wiltoneducationfoundation.org or contact Kara Bingaman at karabingaman@gmail.com.
