Norwalk Softball Aims for State Tournament Run

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Fairfield County varsity softball teams hope to continue a recent trend of deep runs in the state tournament as the playoffs start Tuesday afternoon.

Westhill of Stamford is aiming to reach the championship game for the third straight year. Fairfield Warde has reached the state semifinals two years in a row, but will have to get past conference rival Westhill to do it again. Darien, which topped Westhill for its second conference title in as many years, will hope to repeat its 2009 run to the finals.

Games for 11 teams from The Daily Voice's Fairfield County readership area are listed below. First and second round games are played at the higher seeded team's field. The quarterfinals, semifinals and championship will be played at a neutral site to be determined.
