Calendar Filled With Running Options

So where are you running this weekend? Westport? Darien? Wilton? Greenwich? Choices abound, and that’s the case throughout May in Fairfield County. If April is the month where recreational runners scrape off winter’s rust, May is the time they push themselves to the breaking point. With warmer weather, conditions are often ripe in May for runners to produce their personal bests.

It’s not just this weekend that is filled with races. There are events throughout May, in nearly all locales in Fairfield County. Here is a list of the ones in Main Street Connecticut communities, with links (when available) to the appropriate race website.

Westport: Minute Man 5K and 10K, children's races, 7:45 a.m.

Greenwich: Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup Biathlon, 7 a.m.

Fairfield: Dogwood Dash, 1.7M, 9 a.m.

Riverside: Riverside Run, 3M, 8:30 a.m.

Norwalk: Mother's Day 10K and 5K Health Walk, 8 a.m.

Saturday, May 14

Norwalk: Sally's Run 5K and Whittingham Walk 3K, Noon

Rowayton: Accelerate Your Life 5K, 9 a.m.

Sunday, May 15

Fairfield: Christine's Run It While You Can 5K, Fitness Walk and Fun Run, 11 a.m.

Greenwich: Save the Children Mini-Marathon, 2.6M,  (Kids ages K-8), 9:30 a.m.
