Balin Falls to 14th at Met Open

Burning Tree's Danny Balin shot 76 on Wednesday to fall into 14th place entering the final round of the Met Open at Bethpage Black Golf Course in Bethpage, N.Y. The final round will be played Thursday.

Woodway's Mike Ballo shot 70 and is tied for 17th place with a 36-hole total of 146. He is one shot behind Balin. Evan Beirne shot a 66 on his home course to grab a two-shot lead entering the final round. Beirne is at 5-under-par 137.

Greenwich's Reed Howard (76-75-151) and Shorehaven's Jerry Courville (77-76-153) also made the cut among Fairfield County golfers. Fans can follow the tournament here.
