FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. More than a week after Hurricane Irene hit the state, more than 8,000 customers remained without power at 11 p.m. Monday across Connecticut.
The largest outages in terms of numbers were in East Haddam (887 customers), Newtown (452), Danbury (422) and Guilford (405) and Monroe (308).
According to Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating, power outage numbers in the area include:
11 customers remained in the dark in Darien;
92 in Easton;
183 in Fairfield;
66 in Greenwich;
279 in New Canaan;
28 in Norwalk;
35 in Stamford;
19 in Weston;
66 in Westport; and
165 in Wilton.
