Earl Whitfield, 51, said he was given permission to take the bike for a spin, but a Superior Court jury in Bridgeport saw it differently and convicted him of third-degree larceny this week, said the Connecticut Post.

The case began when Whitfield, who was looking at a display of motorcycles at the Boardwalk Marina, jumped on a Honda CB250 and took off at high speed, the Post said. A short time later, he drove into a car and was arrested, reported the Connecticut Post.
