More Snow, Cold Targets Fairfield County

Commuting Friday morning may be nasty and the weekend will likely be chilly thanks to yet another winter storm barreling toward Fairfield County

Another three to seven inches of snow could fall by mid-day Friday and the white stuff will be followed by the coldest temperatures of the season, the National Weather Service says.

So, not a monster blizzard but you’ll still need your snow shovels and roof rakes. The snow is supposed to start after 10 p.m. Thursday night and continue falling through mid-morning Friday.

This winter's storms have caused havoc on area highways, roads, train lines and sidewalks, and given local students a string of snow days. This week's rain and ice have given some students extra time to study for mid-terms

Wind chill Friday night could drag a low of 11 down to -1, the Weather Service says. Saturday and Sunday won’t get much warmer than the mid-20s during the day.

And Mother Nature isn’t offering much rest for the snow-weary — there may be more snow on the way Tuesday and Wednesday.
