Metro-North Schedules Changing

Commuters who use Metro-North's New Haven Line should expect to make some changes in their daily routines starting Monday, Aug. 30. The Connecticut Department of Transportation will begin a multi-year project to update five bridges and the catenary wires that supply power to Metro-North trains. Starting Monday, trains will run on new timetables to accommodate the changes.

According to Metro-North, peak-hour trains will run up to six minutes earlier or 14 minutes later than they did previously. The project will also interrupt direct service to a few stations, meaning some commuters will have to transfer at Stamford on the way to and from Grand Central.

Track outages will also force some passengers to exit via temporary or opposite-side platforms during some periods of the project. Metro-North will announce these changes as they occur.

New schedules are available at Grand Central and all ticketing offices along the New Haven Line. Commuters can also view the new timetables online. Click here for weekdays or here for weekends.
