Malloy Signs Order to Extend Voter Registration

Connecticut residents will have a few extra days to register to vote for next Tuesday's election thanks to the effects of the weekend snowstorm. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed an order Tuesday pushing back the deadline to register to noon Monday, Nov. 7. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Malloy's order says, "In light of the emergency conditions it is appropriate to extend the voter registration deadline to give the most voters the opportunity to register and vote, even in towns where power may be restored close to election time."

On Monday, President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in Connecticut due to Saturday's devastating snowstorm.
