Greenwich Woman Charged in Norwalk DUI

NORWALK, Conn. – A Greenwich woman was driving under the influence Sunday in Norwalk, police say. Irene Larusso, 48, of 27 Alpine Road had marijuana and cocaine on her, said Norwalk police Sgt. Lisa Cotto. Larusso told police she had been in a bar and just wanted to go home to Greenwich.

Officer Peter White spotted Larusso’s Subaru Legacy station wagon speeding on Wall Street at 1:36 a.m. Sunday, Cotto said. The car was in a left-turn lane but did not turn. White stopped the vehicle.

Larusso's eyes were red and glazed and there was a strong odor of alcohol, Cotto said. She failed a field sobriety test. The car was towed and inventoried. Police found a piece of paper folded “druggist style,” and say it contained marijuana. A marijuana pipe was found with burnt residue in it. Police said they also found in Larusso’s purse a Marlboro cigarette package with five cigarettes and a plastic bag with cocaine in it.

Larusso told police she must have picked up someone else’s pocketbook in the bar, Cotto said. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, driving while under the influence and driving with no insurance. Bond was set at $2,000.

? A Domino’s Pizza delivery driver reported being robbed Friday night, Cotto said.

The driver said he had an order for 3 Hollow Tree Road. When he pulled into the driveway, he called the phone number on the order and heard a phone ringing behind him at 4 Hollow Tree Road. He turned around and a man told him he had given him the wrong address, Cotto said.

Another man walked toward him from McAllister Avenue and said, “Give me what you have,” Cotto said. The delivery driver dropped the pizza and the soda, and ran. He called police from West Couch Street, and said the cash he had in his car had been taken. He wasn't injured.

The detective bureau is investigating.
