First Bank Picks Branch Manager

A college instructor described as an "avid learner" has been added to the management team at Stamford First Bank. Neil Dickson has been named the bank's vice president and branch manager, according to a release. The announcement was made by SFB Divisional President Bob Palermo.

"Neil brings with him an in-depth knowledge of the Stamford market," Palermo said in the statement, adding, "His many years as a branch manager in Stamford, combined with his understanding of the local economics, make him a great asset to our organization."

Dickson has been a bank branch manager in Stamford for the past eight years. He began as a branch manager at Bayshore National Bank in Texas 16 years ago.

He shares his business knowledge in the classroom. He is a part-time adjunct professor at Albertus Magnus College's New Dimensions program, which is intended to aid working adults who want to advance their business skills and education. Dickson received a master's degree in management from Albertus Magnus. He earned two bachelor's degrees from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Dickson lives in Norwalk. He is active in community organizations, including the Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce.

Stamford First Bank emphasizes hometown banking. A division of The Bank of New Canaan, it recently opened its doors at 612 Bedford St. in Stamford.
