Brush Fires Slow Metro-North Trains in Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Riders on the New Haven Line of Metro-North Railroad in Fairfield County and beyond may experience delays and disruptions Monday evening.

Due to brush fires in Milford as well as dry weather and heavy wind, Metro-North has closed a section of track.

The railroad is busing passengers between Stratford and New Haven for both eastbound and westbound service because of the large brush fire near Milford.

Buses will stop at the Milford station, and announcements will be made at each station affected. Delays should be expected.

No southbound trains are leaving New Haven, and northbound trains are terminated in Bridegeport or Stratford, where the buses will pick up service.
