Norwalk Shelter Receives Donation of Toiletries

NORWALK, Conn. – Dove, Q-Tips, Suave and TRESemme all bundled together in a bouquet of personal care products acted as centerpieces at a Greenwich luncheon to benefit projects to prevent domestic violence in Norwalk and Stamford.

During the Fairfield County Community Foundation’s 13th annual luncheon for its Fund for Women and Girls, Unilever donated the centerpieces, which go to shelters around Fairfield County. The products, including shampoo and deodorant, are usually in short supply at the shelters, the foundation said.

The care packages are designed as welcome gifts for new arrivals to aid in the transition to the shelter.

During the event at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, Unilever donated products to Inspirica, formerly St. Luke’s LifeWorks in Stamford; the Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education in Stamford; the Domestic Violence Crisis Center’s Safe House in Norwalk; and the Women’s Center in Danbury.
