Duo Tapped for Award

The American Red Cross gave its "Heroes Award"  for Public Impact, to Band Together CT co-founders Rob Fried, of Redding and Fairfield's Jerry Vigorito. They were recognized for organizing concerts that have raised over $500,000 for local charities. This year's American Red Cross benefit, "Concert for Haiti," along with a recent Westport Country Playhouse concert benefiting Save the Children and featuring Ronnie Spector, were two of Band Together CT's events. Additional honors the duo have received include recognition by the Connecticut State Assembly, Governor Rell and The U.S. Congress and recently, the 41st annual Dr. Edward J. Kochan "Outstanding Citizen" Award. Their next concert, on June 5 at Harbor Yard, is an all-day music festival, Brentpalooza, which supports the fight against children's cancer.
