Norwalk Hospital named Dr. Jeanne Capasse of Fairfield surgical director of the Smilow Family Breast Health Center.
"My goal is to make excellent breast care available to all women in our community in a timely fashion," Capasse said. "For any breast-related concern an abnormal mammogram, a painful lump or a concern about being at high risk for breast cancer our center can help.
"The Smilow Family Breast Health Center's fully integrated program will guide women through the often frightening and confusing evaluation process with the feeling that they are in capable hands and that the information they need is just a phone call away," she said.
Capasse has been at Norwalk Hospital since 1995. She most recently worked an assistant attending surgeon. In the past, she was also co-director of surgical critical care and assistant chairman of the Department of Surgery.
Capasse graduated from Cornell University Medical College and completed her internship and residency in General Surgery at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City.
