Take the 'Eww' Out of Bird Poo

Car owners can spend hours a week washing, waxing and polishing their beloved vehicles, only to be "visited" with souvenirs of airborne passersby. Short of covering your parked car with a tarp to protect it from bird droppings, it's not easy to dodge the avian poo. If left untreated, bird residue, which contains uric acid and has the same chemical composition as ammonia, can do permanent damage to your car.

To prevent staining and paint discoloration, immediately remove bird droppings with water (do not use harsh or abrasive cleansers). With a soft cloth, rub a coat of wax or sealant on the affected area.

And if your car is a convertible? You might want to wear a hat.
