Fairfield Countys own musically inclined not-for-profit, Music for Youth, wants you to sip and shop with them Saturday, May 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the J. McLaughlin store in Westport, located at 1026 Post Road East. Its a fashionable fundraiser to benefit Music for Youths free Young Persons Concerts, School Residency and Scholarship programs.
Music for Youth began in 2002 with a mission to to foster the love and knowledge of classical music in young people. In the nine years since, they have created a volunteer-run organization that makes classical music accessible and enjoyable for young people throughout the county.
For many, J. McLaughlin is synonymous with classic American style. Sporty, tailored lines, preppy patterns and superior attention to detail are all hallmarks of this New York-based label. Saturday, while you shop J. McLaughlins expansive collection of elegantly wearable looks, you can also enjoy wine and hors doeuvres, and a special serenade by some of Music for Youths students. And J. McLaughlin will donate 15 percent of the evenings sales to benefit Music for Youths programs.
