Norwalk Doc Opts for Concierge Medicine

Hiring a lawyer on retainer is nothing usual, but retaining a doctor to provide individualized medical care is gaining increasing attention within the health community and from the media.

A recent article in the New York Times featured Norwalk internist, Dr. Steven L. Glazer, as an example of a trend toward "concierge medicine," where patients pay as much as $25,000 per year to retain a doctor's care 24 hours per day and seven days per week. Additionally, in the case of an emergency, concierge doctors can facilitate wait-less emergency room visits and immediate care anywhere in the world.

Glazer is an attending physician at Norwalk Hospital. He went to medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Georgia and did his internship and residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He lives in Weston.
