Give Thanks with a Taste of Bourbon

Saugatuck Grain & Grape takes a spirited attitude when it comes to Thanksgiving. “When I think of Thanksgiving,” writes co-owner Jeff Marron, “For some strange reason, I think of bourbon. I'm not quite sure why. But, I think it might have to do with the whole American heritage thing.”

Whatever his rationale, he’s decided to share his take on the holiday with an event he’s calling “Big, Bad Bourbon Tasting” happening Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The store typically stocks around 80 different selections of American whiskeys. Marron understands that such depth and breadth can intimidate the neophyte, and he’s determined to demystify the drink. “I believe a little education goes a long way in the spirits world,” Marron writes. “There are just too many good bourbons out there that you need to know about.”

If you’re ready to get schooled in the decidedly American art of whiskey making, just in time for the holiday, RSVP to saugatuckgrainandgrape@gmail.com.
