Get Your Paws To Norwalk's Bark In The Park

NORWALK, Conn. - Whether you have two paws or four, trot over to the fifth annual Bark in the Park fundraiser Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Taylor Farm Park in Norwalk.

The event raises money for Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), which was founded in 1962. In its 50 years of service to Fairfield County, PAWS has placed more than 19,000 homeless, stray and abandoned pets in homes, as well as provided these animals shelter and medical attention, said Ilona Bencze-Zimmer, who is on PAWS’ board of directors.

“The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the medical care of pets at the shelter, as well as for assistance we give to people in the community in order to provide those in need with medical care of pets, and to keep these pets in their homes,” said Bencze-Zimmer. “The event also raises awareness about the plight of homeless animals everywhere.”

The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 7.
