Auto Photographer Headlines at Concours

Jesse Alexander, known for his iconic motorsports photography, is the featured artist at this year’s Fairfield Concours d’Elegance, one of the country’s premiere classic car events. The event showcases some of his most famous work, including key images from his “24 Hours of Le Mans.” Jesse has also illustrated the cover of the show’s program, as well as the official event poster.

The seventh annual Concours takes place Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport. The event is known as a showcase for automotive and motorcycle design and engineering excellence.

Jesse's involvement in motorsports began in the early 1950s, coinciding with the popularity of sports cars in the United States. Often referred to as the “Ansel Adams of motorsports,” his work has appeared in many of the world’s prominent automotive publications, as well as in museums and galleries.

“We are proud to feature such an iconic figure in racing history at our 2010 event,” said Bill Scheffler in a press release. Scheffler, co-founder of the Fairfield Concours d’Elegance, added, “Jesse Alexander’s images hum with energy and power, allowing for a unique view at the greatest drivers and machines in action.”

Additionally, the Fairfield County Concours d’Elegance holds its annual Nutmeg Tour for Autism fundraiser, presented by St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation on Saturday, Sept. 11 in support of the Drive to Treat Autism Fund, which provides diagnostic and treatment services for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
