RIDGEFIELD, Conn. As a part of the Green Expo, the Hudson Valley Shakespeares Festival is coming to perform the classic love story Romeo and Juliet on Aug. 11.
The Ridgefield Playhouse is so excited to be providing to our community this much anticipated summer event for the fifth year. To many families, its a tradition to spend the afternoon at the Playhouse soaking up the sun and brushing up on your Shakespeare, said Allison Stockel, executive director of The Ridgefield Playhouse. Families can once again get to know Shakespeare in the open air, under a tent on the field next to the Playhouse.
The Green Expo will feature local green goods and services plus tastings from area restaurants, and begins at noon on Saturday with the performance to follow.
The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival is a critically-acclaimed regional theater company and its performance of Romeo and Juliet has been described by the Playhouse as a contemporary take on the classic.
