MTC Norwalk Presents 'Short And Sweet: The Plays Of Jim Gordon'

NORWALK, Conn. -- Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's award-winning professional theatre company, presents "Short and Sweet: The Plays of Jim Gordon."

There will be two performances only, on Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24, in Norwalk.

"Short and Sweet: The Plays of Jim Gordon" are eight slices of contemporary life where things aren't always what they seem. It was written and directed by award-winning playwright Jim Gordon, whose plays have been produced throughout the United States and Europe. A third collection of Gordon's short plays will be published this year.

Among his many awards, Gordon received the Alan Minieri Award for Playwriting Excellence from "The American Globe Theatre" in New York City. His university credits include a BS in theatre arts from the State University of New York and an MA from Fairfield University. Gordon is a member of the Theatre Artists Workshop in Norwalk and the Dramatists Guild.

The cast of professional actors includes John Flaherty, Molly Garbe, Larry Greeley, Cynthia Hannah, Marca Leigh, Kimberley Lowden, Florence Phillips, Frank Piazza, Jim Schilling, Katie Sparer, Kimberly Squires, Nadine Willig and Allan Zeller.

The Jan. 23 performance begins at 8 p.m.; the Jan. 24 performance begins at 2 p.m. Reservations are suggested and available by calling 203-454-3883 or going online.

The MTC MainStage is at 509 Westport Ave., behind Nine West Outlet, in Norwalk. Tickets range from $30 to $40, and all proceeds benefit MTC and its programming.
