Fair Crackles with Old Time Flavor

Wring out the last, devil-may-care drops of summer with a trip to the Bridgewater Country Fair. Traditional, old-fashioned and brimming with contests, entertainment and food, this everything-but-the-kitchen-sink event is more than just top-of-the-line rides and refreshments. Check out its vegetables, fruit, flowers, agricultural and industrial exhibits. Learn about poultry, cattle and rabbits and see wool and shearing displays. Peruse photo and art exhibits or witness antique tractor pulls, ox pulls, a children's pet parade, a drumming competition or a state quilt contest. There is enough to see and do to last you through the cold months. The Fair takes place Friday, August 20 through Sunday, August 22. Hours are: Friday, 4-11 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Daily admission is $5 and $8. Children under 12 are free.
