Drink in the Arboretum and Gardens

Mix fall's cooler temperatures, colorful trees and plants and conversation with chums and you have a heady outdoor potion of an evening. Just what Bartlett Arboretum has in mind when it invites visitors to its Tropical Gardens Cocktail Party on September 2, from 6-8 p.m. The cocktails are garden-themed, the hors d'oeuvres are hearty and heaping, the flora add fragrance and live music enhances the entire multi-sensory experience.

Mingle here with friends and inhale this magnificent, horticultural backdrop. Open to the public since 1966, Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens was transferred to the City of Stamford in 2002. It added 27 adjacent North Stamford acres, bringing the preserve's total to 91. Its varied native plants include magnificent award-winning Champion trees, forests, gardens, wildflower meadows and red maple wetlands. Its tropical garden includes sugar cane, a rum ingredient. Walk around to explore or plant yourself near the music, canapes and cocktails. Either way, an evening at this Stamford oasis will make you want to stay till the snow flies. Tickets are $36. For reservations and information, visit The Bartlett Arboretum's website.
