New Haven Hit-Run Victim Saved By Good Samaritan, Police Say A Connecticut pedestrian who was struck by a hit-and-run driver remains in critical condition after being aided by a Good Samaritan. The incident happened just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, when New Haven Police and Fire responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on Sherman Avenue between Elm Street and Whalley Avenue, in New Haven.
