Quick-Thinking Officers Save Area Man From Hanging Himself, Police Say A Western Mass man who was attempting to hang himself from a tree was saved by quick-thinking police officers. The incident took place in Hampden County in Springfield around 11:!5 a.m., Monday, April 25. Springfield Police Officers responded to the 800 block of Boston Road for a report of a suicidal man, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police. CT Woman Under Protective Order Held In Double-Homicide, Police Say Police arrested a Connecticut woman in connection with a double homicide. Hartford County resident Harlee Swols, age 22, of Enfield, was charged with violation of a protective order after she was located at the scene of the double murder around 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 8, Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox said.
