Police Ask Public's Help After 2-Alarm Fire Is 3rd Blaze In Hours In CT City Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying a man they believe may be involved in two fires. Sgt. Sean Scanlan, of the Stamford Police, said the department is working to identify the man who was caught on surveillance near two fires on Thursday, Sept. 29. A third fire on West Avenue around 11 a.m. Thursday is not believed to be a suspected arson, police said. Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Hours-Long I-95 Delays This story has been updated. There were delays of around two hours on a stretch of I-95 after a tractor-trailer crash in Fairfield County. The crash happened on the northbound side Friday morning, Aug. 21 at around 4 a.m., initially shutting down all lanes in Darien between Noroton Avenue/Exit 10 and Route 1/Exit 11. One lane reopened around daybreak with traffic backed up to Harvard Avenue/West Avenue (Exit 6) in Stamford. The highway did not fully reopen until the end of the morning commute.
