A Fairfield County woman was busted for alleged DUI after she was seen by police sticking the roadside curbs and crossing over the double-yellow line. A Philadelphia man has been charged with making a false incident report telling police that his former girlfriend was being held at gunpoint in Connecticut. The incident occurred in Fairfield County on Sunday, March 17, around 8:30 a.m. According to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police, the department received information from the New York City Police Department that a woman was being held at gunpoint in a Norwalk home. Two people in a week have been the victim of a pickpocket at a Fairfield County Trader Joe's. The first incident occurred on Monday, April 1, at the store at 436 Post Road in Darien. 3 Escape CT House Fire Without Injury
Three people were able to escape a Fairfield County house fire without injury. The fire occurred in New Canaan on White Shade Oak Lane around 11:40 p.m., Monday, April 8. According to Jill Stayman with the New Canaan Fire Department, the fire started at the rear of the two-car garage and extended into the attic area above it. The US Food and Drug Administration has recalled oysters grown and harvested in Connecticut following an outbreak of norovirus. In a notice on Thursday, March 14, the FDA said the outbreak was caused by oysters sold by Norwalk-based Norm Bloom and Son harvested in February.
