NBC CT Reporter, Manchester Native Mike Massaro Leaving Station
After some five years on the screen, informing and entertaining, NBC Connecticut reporter Mike Massaro is leaving the station.
A Connecticut native, born and raised in Hartford County, Massaro, who's from Manchester, announced on Friday, Feb. 16 on the X Platform that he will be signing off at the end of the month.
"It has been an amazing journey of reinvention at NBC Connecticut for nearly five years," Massaro wrote. "I challenged myself to use my broadcasting skills in a different yet meaningful way and succeeded. However, I will be leaving the network at month’s end. Onward!"

A 26-year-old former UConn student has been sentenced to prison for the horrific killings of two men and the kidnapping of a woman.
Fairfield County native Peter Manfredonia, age 26, who grew up in Newtown, who currently has an address in Tolland County in Mansfield, was sentenced on Wednesday, April 19 to 55 years in prison in a 2020 murder and kidnapping case under a plea agreement, according to NBC Connecticut.
Manfredonia admitted to killing 62-year-old Ted DeMers, in Willington on Friday, May 22, 2020, officials said in an arrest warrant.

'Demonic' Killings Of Father, Son Earn New Haven Man 120 Years In Prison
A 55-year-old man was sentenced this week for killing a father and son in their Connecticut home back in the 1980s, officials said.
Willie McFarland, of New Haven, got 120 years in prison for the murders of Fred Harris, age 59, and his son Greg Harris, age 23, inside their Hamden home in 1987, New Haven State’s Attorney John Doyle, Jr, announced on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
Judge Elpedio Vitale, who delivered the sentence, called the murders "a demonic level of violence and terror" and said McFarland "is an unqualified menace to society."
