Gas Leak Caused By Construction: Main Street Reopens In Ridgefield This story has been updated. A gas leak caused by construction resulted in part of a busy Fairfield County road being closed to traffic.  The gas leak began on Thursday, June 15 in Ridgefield in the CVS parking lot at 467 Main St., Ridgefield Emergency Management announced just before 4:40 p.m. The leak was caused by construction activity in the area, officials said.  Main Street between Bailey Avenue and Prospect Street was closed before being reopened late Thursday afternoon.
